African Empires is an expansion to Monumental with new civilizations and game play mechanisms including quests, a new continuous play mode and advanced economics.

In Lost Kingdoms, each civilization comes with its own deck of cards including cultural policies, Knowledge and Buildings as well as new very specific Provinces per civilization: pyramids for the Aztecs, desert for the Mughals, jungle for the Amazons and islands for the Atlanteans. Of course, these new types of terrain could be used with or without their assigned Civilizations to enhance the look of the board and the creation of your maps.
