Star Trek: Space Hunt

Star Trek: Space Hunt is a real-time, team-based hidden movement game for 2–4 players, inspired by the gameplay of SONAR. Set in the Star Trek universe, it focuses on deduction, communication, and quick decision-making as players command iconic ships in a tense battle across space.

Players are split into two opposing crews, ideally in a 2 vs 2 format. Each team controls a single ship, with players taking on different roles. The Captain is responsible for moving the ship, managing energy, and activating special systems, while the Second listens closely to the opposing team’s actions and works to track their position. A screen keeps each ship’s location hidden, adding to the tension throughout the game.

Gameplay takes place in real time, with both crews acting simultaneously as they move across a grid-based space map. Each movement must be announced, allowing the opposing team to gather clues and narrow down the ship’s possible location.

As ships move, they generate Energy, which can then be used to trigger special systems such as Scan, Invisibility, Blackout, Hyperspace Warp, and Torpedoes. Each ship has its own energy costs, adding an asymmetric element to play and giving each crew a slightly different feel.

To win, a team must first destroy at least one enemy base before successfully taking out the opposing ship. Once a decisive hit is landed, the game ends immediately.

For players who prefer a gentler introduction, an optional Academy Mode is also included, offering a turn-based version of the game that works well for learning or more relaxed play.
