Choose your side in the struggle for Middle-earth in The Lord of the Rings: The Confrontation, the acclaimed two-player strategy game from designer Reiner Knizia.
One player commands the Fellowship of the Ring, attempting to guide Frodo safely to Mordor and destroy the One Ring. The other controls the forces of Sauron, hunting the Ring-bearer while working to overwhelm the Free Peoples.
Each side controls a group of characters whose identities remain hidden from their opponent until they meet in battle. Every character has their own abilities, while cards are played to influence the outcome of confrontations, creating a tense mix of bluffing, deduction and tactical movement.
The two sides also have completely different victory conditions. The Fellowship must successfully reach Mordor with Frodo, while Sauron's forces can win by eliminating Frodo or successfully invading the Shire.
