Take to the skies in Trickarus, a clever trick-taking card game inspired by the legend of Icarus.
Players compete to fly higher by winning tricks, moving their character upwards along the scoring track each time they succeed. Climb too high and reach the blazing sun, however, and you'll plummet back beneath the other players.
Every card has two different values, and the active values can flip whenever a 5 is played. The trump suit can change at the same time, forcing everyone to continually reassess their hand and rethink which cards are strongest.
The game includes both competitive and cooperative ways to play, alongside dedicated two-player rules in the newer English edition.
Easy to teach but full of tactical twists, Trickarus offers an accessible introduction to trick-taking while still providing plenty for experienced card-game players to explore.
