Welcome to Wyrmspan, a world where majestic dragons soar across the sky in a dazzling array of colours and shapes.

You are a novice dracologist who has discovered a hidden labyrinth on your property. Explore the ancient tunnels and create a haven for these magnificent creatures in your caves.

In Wyrmspan, you will design a sanctuary for dragons of all kinds. You start with 3 spaces that you have already dug out—the first space in your Crimson Cavern, your Golden Grotto, and your Amethyst Abyss. As the game progresses, you will dig more spaces in your sanctuary and attract dragons to live there, triggering powerful effects and gaining the respect of the Dragon Guild.

Wyrmspan is based on the mechanics of Wingspan, but it has 16+ unique features that make Wyrmspan a standalone game (not compatible with Wingspan).

  • 2 rulebooks (multiplayer and solo)
  • 1 dragon fact book (32 pages)
  • 5 player mats
  • 5 adventurer meeples and 5 guild tokens
  • 183 dragon cards (148 full-grown dragons and 35 hatchlings; 57x87mm)
  • 75 cave cards (57x57mm)
  • 4 dragon guilds
  • 55 speckled egg tokens
  • 10 double-sided objective tiles
  • 45 shiny cardboard coins
  • 10 quick-start cards (2 cards per player; 57x87mm)
  • 17 Automa solo mode cards (57x87mm)
  • 1 box (296x296x70mm, and it weighs 2.6 kg)
  • and much more!

We really enjoyed this game. After the initial hurdle of learning what all the rules, cards and pieces were, it's a breeze. The illustrations are beautiful, the concept is entertaining, and it's quite transferrable to other players if you invite inexperienced board gamers to the party.
